High strength, high rigidity, and metal substitute
High performance polyamide resin
Reny™ is a polyamide resin-based molding material mainly based on polyamide MXD6 resin, which has been developed by Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company, Inc. (MGC) through its own process.
Reny™ is reinforced with glass fiber and inorganic fillers and has high strength and rigidity among engineering plastics. In addition, because it has a high deflection temperature under load and high strength and elastic modulus at high temperatures, it is the most suitable material as a metal replacement for structural parts that are subjected to high forces. Reny™ is used in a variety of fields, including automotive and other transportation equipment components, general-use machinery, electrical and electronic components, leisure and sporting goods, and civil engineering building materials.
Characteristic of Reny™
- Excellent mechanical strength and elastic modulus
- Dimensional change and decrease in mechanical strength due to water absorption are small (low water-absorbing polyamide resin)
- Same degree of linear expansion as the alloy
- Excellent oil resistance
- Small molding shrinkage, shrinkage, sink, and warpage
- Excellent appearance

Examples of applications
Door mirror parts
In addition to its high strength, rigidity, and superior vibration damping properties, it offers a beautiful product appearance and is used in door mirror parts of domestic and overseas automotive. The car body is lighter than conventional metals, which is expected to improve fuel efficiency. The Door Mirror Stay offers a range of grades for painting and excellent weather resistance without the need for painting.
Automotive camera modules
Its hydrolysis resistance, chemical resistance, and dimensional stability, which are characteristic of Reny™, make it highly durable even in harsh open air conditions. In addition, it has excellent welding properties due to its specific thermal properties, and is suitable for assembly processing by ultrasonic welding or laser welding.
Tablet housing
Reny™ is suitable for a wide thin case because of its relatively small warpage and excellent fluidity. Metal insert molding is also widely used due to the small difference in linear expansion from metal. We also offer a lineup of high impact grades for drop impact.
Resin screw
Reny™ is characterized by high strength and high stiffness, and is also highly creep-and fatigue-resistant. Because of these features, It is used for resin screws, which require especially high torque strength. It is also excellent in corrosion resistance and chemical resistance, and can be used in a wide range of applications. About 1/5 the weight of metal screws (made by steel) It is small and contributes to product weight reduction.
